THE DAILY GEEK LAUNCHES PODULES ... an ongoing investigation regarding the global phenomenon of unrequited love for the strangely delicious iPad
Catchy headline, eh! Look, as the world goes iPhone 4 crazy (and yes, it looks, moves and behaves beautifully), spare a thought for poor old-iPad ... yesterday's hero (my lord the world of life changing gizmos is moving pretty damn fast these days). It's the most beguiling yet befuddling gadget I've every used. And it got me wondering whether there are many other people out there like me, still desperately trying to come to terms with that fundamental iPad conundrum ... what the hell is its place in the consumer electronics universe? The iPad boasts n unenviable place in the history of my personal Apple consumption, being the first product from the Cupertino whizkids that I haven't instantly fallen in love with. Which is strange, as the poor blighter's done nothing wrong, and everything right. It's astounding for web browsing, brilliant for watching films, great fun as mobile jukebox, sublime when accessing mails ... it's thin, shiny and slick ... blimey, I could gush for hours. So why haven't I gone head over heels for it? It's one of life's (well, maybe this month's) great mysteries, and one that I'm determined to uncover in a series of Daily Geek iPad modules (or Podules ... humour me) over the coming weeks...
